Biography

Prof. Celestine Iwendi is a globally recognised scholar and leading authority in Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, wireless sensor networks, big data analytics, and parallel computing. With more than 25 years of academic and professional experience, he is Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Head of the Centre of Intelligence of Things (CIoTh) at the University of Greater Manchester, Bolton, United Kingdom.

His interdisciplinary research focuses on translating emerging technologies into practical solutions for healthcare, engineering, and sustainable development, contributing to 13 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). A Senior Member of IEEE, Chartered Engineer, Distinguished ACM Speaker, and Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and the Institute of Management Consultants, Professor Iwendi has received international recognition for his research excellence.

His achievements include being named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists for four consecutive years and receiving recognition from the Royal Academy of Engineering. With extensive international academic appointments, leadership experience, and a strong record of mentoring the next generation of researchers, Professor Iwendi brings exceptional expertise and insight into the future of intelligent technologies.
